Our bilingual kindergarten is focussed on education, upbringing and supervision. We lay the foundation for a balanced school career by means of play-based and academic learning to gain knowledge about things and interconnections, by conveying standards and values as well as by supervising and supporting physical, mental and emotional development.
Based on the targets of the curricula for German and English, your children will acquire competencies in different fields of education in an integrated manner through activities, actions, arts and crafts as well as play, using individual work plans. Teachers select content from specific areas of education, within the scope of which he/she will meet the needs of all the children, specific groups or individual children.
The teaching environment corresponds to the everyday reality of the children – a focus on their own strengths is particularly promoted.

Teaching in our bilingual kindergarten is based on the curriculum prescribed by the Canton of Basel-Stadt as well as the Cambridge International curriculum. Our individual work plans and weekly schedules allow us to meet the skills and abilities of every child.
Our bilingual kindergarten starts at 8:30 (arrival time from 8:00 onwards). Kindergarten is until 14:45 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and until 11:50 on Wednesday. A comprehensive after-school programme until 18:00 is available within the scope of our day care service for all children who want to stay longer.
Our after-school programme is run by qualified and experienced staff. The programme aims to promote social competence, empowerment, personal responsibility and creativity of the children. Participation is strength-based: the children should feel like taking part and be able to experience their own sense of achievement. Our kindergarten mini clubs are open in the sense that children can try them out and switch clubs within a school year.
• Mini Cooking Club
In our Mini Cooking Club, our children learn about healthy nutrition and develop the ability to work with others.
• Mini Adventure Club
During the year we hold our Mini Adventure Club. As part of this club, the children visit nearby parks, museums, theatres and other playgrounds in Basel.
• Mini Swimming Club
One afternoon a week the children have the opportunity for some water play. With our qualified swimming instructors children learn the first basic techniques and have a lot of fun!
We would be very pleased to invite you and your family to come and have a look at the school and answer your questions. If you are interested, your child can attend the academia kindergarten for a trial week to get to know our teachers, other children and daily life at the kindergarten.
To organise this, please contact us by telephone at +41 61 20 00 or by e-mail under firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to hearing from you!
